Chris Ortiz has been involved with golf since he was two years old. Playing golf at that age with his grandfather is one of his fondest memories. At his first opportunity, he joined junior golf and, due to his advanced skills, had to compete with older players. His love for the game continued well into high school where he became a three-time (3X) state champion.

In 2009, Chris received a golf scholarship to the University of Texas/El Paso and later transferred to New Mexico State University. There, he was a member of the conference championship team before graduating in 2014 from the PGM Program and being elected into the PGA.

Chris held a variety of positions in the golf business throughout his early career, but ultimately decided to put his skills and education to work in Las Cruces, New Mexico, accepting the position of Head Golf Professional at Red Hawk Golf Club. During his tenure there, he quickly rose through the ranks and developed a reputation for being a business-savvy golf professional.

In 2018, Chris left Red Hawk Golf Club to join Picacho Hills Country Club.

Chris brings his PGA Class A certification and extraordinary skills to PHCC.
